The Importance of CPR

-Heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States! The most common cause of death is that the heart stops beating due to heart disease!

-Because of 80% of all cardiac arrests occur at home, you are most likely to perform CPR on a loved one or family member.

-The earlier you give CPR to a person who is not breathing and has no pulse, the greater chance of survival.

-The heart requires application of eletrical shock called DEFIBRILLATION.

-Until defibrillation becomes available, one must provide artificial breathing and perform CPR.
